Lavenders are despatched throughout the year from the 1st of April up to August the 31st. Please allow 28 days to receive your lavender order although despatch is usually within 1-2 weeks. Lavenders are the most popular cottage-garden plants. These plants have been propagated from cuttings taken from a dedicated mother stock. Avoid potting seed-raised lavenders which offer false economy: they take longer to grow and don't perform so well in the garden. These lavenders are supplied as well established 'Jumbo' plugs measuring approx 4cm across the root ball. We sell three groups of Lavender: English (Angustifolia), French (Stoechas) and Dutch (Intermedia). These plants respond well if potted on before planting straight into your garden. Please note we cannot despatch lavender outside of the UK.

Fragrance
Most lavenders are very aromatic but we think L. Papillon are ideal for adding fragrance to your garden.
Planting
Prepare a hole large enough to avoid damage to the roots. Lavenders prefer soil with good drainage, so add a handful of grit when planting them. Water the plants and allow to drain. For a tidy compact row, plant lavenders at approximately 20-30cm apart (8-12 inches).
Watering
Water the plants thoroughly in dry weather until the plant is well established.
Feed
Top dress in spring with general fertiliser.
Pruning
Remove dead flower stems and lightly trim in late summer. Straggly plants may be cut back hard in March or April. (After their first year, cut them back hard to encourage bushy growth, but avoid cutting into the older wood).
