Product information
10 bulbs. Although often called autumn crocus, colchicums are not really related to true crocuses. There are winter- and spring-flowering species, but varieties such as 'The Giant' which bloom in September and October are the most popular. They flower when least expected, the large blooms suddenly appearing just as the season draws to an end, and without any leaves - hence the common name naked ladies. The large, floppy foliage grows in spring and is best supported by growing the plants among shrubs and herbaceous flowers. All parts of the plant are poisonous. Can even be grown on your windowsill!
