EASY LAWN WITH MICROCLOVER
DESCRIPTION
Easy Lawn is a special mix of seed requiring very little maintenance. Modern grass seed varieties are combined with tiny microclovers to produce a beautiful green lawn all year round. Microclovers produce their own natural fertiliser which feeds the grass to keep it healthy and green. At the same time, their deep roots reduce the need for watering. The resulting dense growth inhibits weed establishment while providing an attractive lawn.
SUITABILITY
Suitable for the busy gardener who is looking for a lawn which remains green for longer and requires minimum maintenance. Perfect for wear and tolerance, drought and shade. This seed mix can be used to grow a new lawn, or over sown into an existing one to improve growth, producing a hard-wearing family-fit lawn.
SOWING DATES
Sow between March and October. Young grass will appear within 14-21 days under good growing conditions.
SOWING RATES
New lawn:
35gms per sq. metre (11/4 oz per sq. yard)
Overseeding:
25gms per sq. metre (3/4 oz per sq. yard)
MOWING HEIGHT
New lawn:
When grass is 5-8cm (2-3in) high, cut for the first time. Trim lightly and gradually lower blades to an ideal cutting height of 10-12mm (1/2in).
Subsequent cuts:
Mow regularly but try not to remove more than a third of the growth at any one time.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
To maintain a high quality lawn, apply fertiliser during damp weather in Spring, mid Summer and Autumn, but only after 9 months from sowing.
