Wild Double Daffodil, Pseudonarcissus Va

Wild Double Daffodil in the green, Pseudonarcissus Van Sion (2504)

The double form of the wild Narcissus pseudonarcissus or Narcissus pseudonarcissus flore pleno is associated with the 17th Century variety Narcissus Van Sion but these ‘native’ bulbs that grow in our British woods are a smaller bulb, a smaller (often green tinged) yellow double or partial double flower and they just have a ‘wilder’ look to them than the Van Sion bulbs often sold by garden centres. Often referred to as the Guernsey cabbage daffodil, Wilmer's great double daffodil, Wilmott's double daffodil and Telamonius Plenus. Ideal for naturalising in gardens and woodland. Flowers in March, grows to 30-40cm high.
